Our Heritage

iOM (formerly known as EDS) started out in 1979 as a provider of finance, distribution and manufacturing software packages together with implementation and software maintenance services. These packages were the pioneers in what is today known as ERP applications. From 1988 to the early 90's the company focused on world-class ERP applications, primarily on the IBM AS/400 (iSeries).

In the early 90's the company decided to change its focus from the marketing of applications to providing IT Professional Services (PS) primarily directed at ERP application solutions and e- business applications.

In 1990, outsourcing and facilities management divisions were formed and these services were provided to customers throughout Asia. In 1991 a software development center was formed to focus on bespoke or custom software development. This development center was the first to be awarded ISO 9000 certification in Asia and today, has divisions that focus on multi platform system development.

 The company also launched its own Human Resource Management product which meets the requirements of a wide range of businesses including manufacturing, service organisations, banks, hospitals and retail chains

A banking division was formed, which focuses on providing a wide range of development services to banks and large international developers of banking software.

In the late 90's, iOM completed development and successfully launched Retailigence which provides a full solution tailored specifically to meet the unique requirements of the retail industry.

Our Regional growth in ASEAN in the 80's has now been extended to the USA and UK in the late 90s giving iOM a global presence.
